The store

SLVRBRGS is more than a store – it’s a creative and cultural destination in the making. Rooted in Malmö’s street-smart, dynamic spirit, it’s a space where retail and community come together in entirely new ways.

SLVRBRGS offers a unique blend of shopping, cultural inspiration and a place to connect. The space features curated selections of interior design, vintage, fashion, books, music, plants, art, eyewear, gourmet foods, and more, alongside a café, workspace, and a launch area for installations and events, with weekend DJ sets and ever-changing experiences.

The name celebrates the iconic design store SILVERBERGS in Malmö that closed in 1995 and for decades inspired and influenced many generations.

SLVRBRGS is planned to open in September 2025 and we are currently reviewing locations in or close to the original space.

The team

SLVRBRGS is created and developed by two influential entrepreneurs within design and business innovation, both with global experience.

DAVID CARLSON is a Creative Director and Design Strategist who has been working at the forefront of the international design scene for more than 25 years. He is, among other things, the founder of David Design, an influential chain of interior design stores in Sweden and Japan. For the past six years he has been Creative Director at Swedish glassworks giant Orrefors Kosta Boda.

ANDERS SJÖSTEDT is an internationally experienced leader and consultant within business transformation and destination development. Inspirational speaker, facilitator and advisor on digital impact and disruptive market strategies. He has built up the successful start-up incubator MINC in Malmö and led the establishment of the Swedish digital education company Hyper Island in New York.
